PURPOSE: An electrophotographic imaging device and a developing control method are provided to obtain replacement information of a photosensitive medium and a developer by a measured developing current value and control a developer thickness of a developing roller surface and the developing quantity of a photosensitive medium surface. CONSTITUTION: A charging unit charges the surface of a photosensitive medium(110) as a uniform electric potential. An exposure unit(130) scans light on the surface of the photosensitive medium, and forms an electrostatic latent image. A developing roller(140) attaches a developer on the electrostatic latent image, and develops the electrostatic latent image. A developer supply roller(150) supplies the developer to the developing roller. A transferring unit transfers an image developed on the surface of the photosensitive medium to papers. A current measuring unit measures a developing current which flows between the developing roller and the photosensitive medium. A control unit(180) calculates at least one of a photosensitive film thickness of the photosensitive medium, a developer thickness of a developing roller surface and a developing quantity of a photosensitive medium surface according to the measured developing current. The control unit displays replacement information of consumption components or controls developing variables on the basis of the calculated value. |
