PURPOSE: A self-diagnosing method of a camcorder is provided to self-diagnose and self-restore the abnormality of components of a camcorder, and display a specific method for normal restoration. CONSTITUTION: A control unit diagnoses the abnormality of components of a camcorder periodically according to self-diagnosing items(S300). The control unit tries to restore the abnormal state into the normal state by outputting a control signal for restarting the components(S310-S320). It is judged whether the components are restored(S330). It is judged whether the frequency of the trial exceeds a predetermined frequency(S340). The control unit reads the contents of the abnormality and user's measure information for displaying the same on a display unit(S350).
