PURPOSE: A method for collectively deleting sub-files of a directory in a mobile terminal managing data by using a directory is provided to delete sub-files of a directory all together, thereby reducing time required for the deletion. CONSTITUTION: A user interface task receives a request for collectively deleting sub-files of a directory to request a file system task(201) to collectively delete the sub-files of the directory. The file system task searches a master directory table for deleting the inferior files(202). It is judged whether all the sub-files are deleted(203). The file system task deletes the directory from a directory management file and reports completion of the deletion to the user interface task(204). The user interface task requests to re-create a directory having the same name as the directory(205). The file system task re-creates the directory in the directory management file and reports completion of the re-creation to the user interface task(206).
