PURPOSE: A fixing belt is provided to realize strength, thermo-tolerance, rigidity and flexibility needed for transferring a transcript while pressurizing and heating a non-fixed toner image and to improve the lubrication of a belt, the fixation of a toner and the separability of the toner. CONSTITUTION: A fixing belt includes a tubular body made from polyimide and at least one functional layers placed on the tubular body. The tubular body is formed by coating a polyimide precursor onto a tubular mold, defoaming the precursor by using the centrifugal force and changing the precursor into imide. The functional layer is a rubber-shaped elastic layer or fluorocarbon resin release layer. The thickness of the tubular body is 70-200 micrometer, and the thickness of the functional layer is 5-500 micrometer. The buckling strength of the belt is more than 40N, and the tear strength is more than 0.2N. |
