METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SPATIALLY MULTIPLEXING HOLOGRAM BY PARTIAL SPACE OVERLAPPING BETWEEN NEIGHBOR STACK AND THE HOLOGRAM

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for spatially multiplexing a hologram by partial space overlapping between a neighbor stack and the hologram are provided to increase density of a hologram stored on a holographic medium. CONSTITUTION: A first hologram is generated at a holographic medium(108) by using a first reference beam(120a) and first signal beams(110a), wherein each first signal beam has a waist(116a). A second hologram is generated by using a second reference beam(120b) equal to the first reference beam and second signal beams(110b), wherein each second signal beam has a waist(116b). At least a part of the second hologram is spatially overlapped with the first hologram. The first hologram is spatially separated from the second hologram not to generate any part of the waist of the first signal beam at the same position as a random part of the waist of the second signal beam.
