<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a fuel cell for an automobile effective for warming-up in shutdown of the fuel cell and capable of downsizing a cooling system. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling device for a fuel cell of this invention comprises a cooling circuit comprising: a compressor for compressing a gaseous cooling medium; an external heat exchanger provided downstream of the compressor for liquefying the compressed cooling medium; a pressure-reducing means provided downstream of the external heat exchanger; and an accumulator for holding the cooling medium that has cooled a stack body of the fuel cell. The stack body is connected to the cooling circuit at a location between the pressure-reducing means and the accumulator. In the cooling circuit, a four-way valve is provided between the compressor and the external heat exchanger and between the stack body and the accumulator. Under cooling operation, a flow of the cooling medium coming out of the compressor is subsequently led to the external heat exchanger by the four-way valve. Under warming-up operation, the flow is subsequently led to the stack body by the four-way valve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
