<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a functional feed for prophylaxis and therapy of bovine articular diseases, absorbable with high efficiency at a low cost, and for further details, the functional feed containing an amorphized chitin for cattle. <P>SOLUTION: The feed, a prophylactic and therapeutic agent for the articular diseases and an antiinflammatory agent comprise the amorphized chitin. The prophylactic and therapeutic agent for the articular diseases is a cartilage destruction inhibitor or a chondrogenesis promoter. The feed, prophylactic and therapeutic agent or antiinflammatory agent is produced by using the amorphized chitin. Furthermore, the amorphized chitin, feed and prophylactic and therapeutic agent for the articular diseases are used for the therapy or prophylaxis of the bovine articular diseases. The amorphous chitin, feed and antiinflammatory agent are used for the therapy or prophylaxis of bovine inflammations.
