<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound control unit which does not require fitting precision of a sensor and performs very natural and diverse sounding control. <P>SOLUTION: K1 to K4 are thresholds and a curve is a track of a key. In this case, a key state such as TOUCH-A, COUNT-DOWN-0, and TOUCH-B is determined based upon a last key state and the position of the key (what thresholds the key is between). Therefore, proper state grasping is carried out. Further, TIME-OVER and HOLD are determined while the last key state, the position of the key, and continuance of the last key state are taken into consideration, so the state grasping is performed conforming with an actual piano.
