<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm the discharge states of a plurality of ink jet heads for a short period of time in order to apply ink to the surface of a large-sized substrate using the ink jet heads. <P>SOLUTION: In this coating apparatus, a flashing part for confirming the discharge state of a coating unit part is newly provided.
