摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method in which an optical waveguide substrate capable of efficiently transmitting a light signal can be obtained at low cost. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide substrate 10 having a base material 11, an optical waveguide layer 31 having a core 33, a clad 34, and a recessed part 35, and a projecting optical path conversion part 22 is manufactured as follows. The projecting optical path conversion part 22 is previously formed on a main surface 12 of the base material 11. Further, a recessed part 35 for escaping the projecting optical path conversion part 22 is previously formed in the optical waveguide layer 31 at a position corresponding to the projecting optical path conversion part 22. Then the optical waveguide layer 31 where the recessed part 35 is formed is joined on the main surface 12 of the base material 11 where the projecting optical path conversion part 22 is formed.
