PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera device capable of substantially reducing an activation time in constitution having a collapsible optical system, an activation method of the camera device, and a program used for them. SOLUTION: At the time of activation, after opening a shutter, the initialization processing of the optical system such as the delivery of a zoom lens and the movement of a focus lens to an initial position is performed. The drive of the focus lens and the activation preparation of through images are performed in parallel. Also, at the time of opening the shutter, by checking a battery residual amount on the basis of a battery voltage at the point of time, the need of checking the battery residual amount during the initialization processing of the optical system is eliminated.
