PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase by means of a simple device and at a low cost the amount of coins which a coin hopper retains by remodeling a conventional coin hopper without increasing a space to install the coin hopper. SOLUTION: The coin hopper includes a retaining bowl having a wall part for retaining coins in bulk; a rotary disk positioned below the retaining bowl for feeding coins; and a moving wall part which constitutes a portion of the wall part of the retaining bowl and which is selectively movable, based on the amount of coins on the rotary disk, to a retaining position where the coins placed do not slip down toward the rotary disk and a supply position where the coins slip down toward the rotary disk.
