PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of realizing the improvement of the assembly efficiency of a barrier mechanism by restraining increase in the number of part items. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with barrier blades 2 and 2' uncovering/covering the front of a lens, a base member 1 supporting the barrier blades and incorporated into a lens barrel by rotation in one direction around the optical axis, and a cover member 5 constituting the outside case of a barrier mechanism. The cover member has engaging parts 5a to 5c extended in the optical axis direction, piercing through the base member and engaged with the lens barrel, and a projecting part 5d for preventing the displacement of the base member in the other direction around the optical axis by abutting on a projection part formed in the lens barrel.
