MEASURING METHOD FOR SPLICE PART OF STRIP-SHAPED MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for a splice part of a strip-shaped member for obtaining satisfactory measurement accuracy without causing a fall in work efficiency even by using a low-cost non-contact type sensor having low response capability. SOLUTION: While the strip-shaped member S is being wound on a molded drum 1, an end position of the member S is found from distance data detected by the non-contact type sensor 4 and from data on the rotation quantity of the drum detected by a drum rotation quantity detection means 6 to determine a measurement range on the splice part S1 from the end position. After winding the strip-shaped member, the drum 1 is rotated to a position where a measurement starting end in the measurement range of the splice part S1 confronts the sensor 4. The splice part S1 is detected by the sensor 4 while the drum 1 is rotated at a drum rotating speed corresponding to the response capability of the sensor 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
