PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope with a jacket sheath capable of certainly engaging and disengaging a slip-off preventing mechanism for controlling the slip-off of the leading end part of a flexible insertion part from the interior of the leading end part of the jacket sheath without fear of causing the damage of a member. SOLUTION: The channel tube 23 is set to a state twisted around the axial line of the channel tube 23 between both ends of the guide pipeline 17 in such a state that the jacket sheath 20 is covered with flexible insertion parts 11, 12 and 13 and the channel tube 23 is inserted into the guide pipeline 17 not only to bring the slip-off preventing mechanisms 18 and 28 to an engaged state by rotatory power making the channel tube 23 ready to return to the original state by its elasticity but also to release the engaged state of the slip-off preventing mechanisms 18 and 28 by adding rotatory power in the direction opposite to the direction of the rotatory power bringing both mechanisms 18 and 28 to the engaged state.
