PURPOSE: An elevator brake is provided to accurately and mechanically activate brakes of both sides during emergency situation by arranging a pair of protrusions in a brake housing. CONSTITUTION: An elevator brake comprises a brake housing(10) fixed at a bracket(8) of an elevator cage; a plate(30) attached to the bracket with a pin(37) arranged at a center thereof; a rod bar(31) arranged at an end of the plate such that the rod bar is rotatable by a bushing; a connection lever(40) fixed at an end of the rod bar with an actuator(41) arranged at an intermediate portion thereof, and a pin(38) arranged around the actuator; and a torsion spring(34) arranged at a spring guide mounted on a bolt(33) disposed around the plate, wherein the torsion spring has both ends(35,36) disposed between the pins(37,38). A pair of protrusions(20) are arranged in the brake housing, and connected through a connection plate(14). Each of the protrusions has a screw extended outward, and a sliding guide bolt coupled to the upper portion of the protrusion through guide grooves(12,13) of a protrusion guide plate(11).
