<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance lithium secondary battery which is applicable to a portable equipment or an electric automobile. <P>SOLUTION: A spinel type oxide Li<SB>1+x</SB>Mn<SB>2-x</SB>O<SB>4</SB>(0<x<1.33) is added with at least one kind of xenogenic element other than Li, Mn, or oxygen, which is used as an active material. The xenogenic element includes B, P, Mg, As, Sb, Zr, Na, Be, Y, Si, Al, C, F, Bi, Pb, Ge, Sn, or the like, and the amount of addition is prefered to be 0.01-10 % to the total amount of Mn in mol ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
