摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an optical tunable filter so as not to erroneously extract a signal different from a desired signal when the optical tunable filter is used to extract the desired signal from a wavelength division multiplex (WDM) signal. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength stabilizing filter 53 has a transmission wavelength characteristic in which the peak of the transmission region exists at a wavelength between a first collective band comprising continuous wavelength bands and a second collective band whose wavelength band are longer than those of the first collective band and whose wavelengths are continuous, and which linearly decreases toward shorter wavelengths than the wavelengths of the first collective band from the peak and toward longer wavelengths than the wavelengths of the second collective band from the peak. A control section 55 generates a control signal to allow the optical tunable filter 51 to extract signal light of a prescribed wavelength from a received WDM signal on the basis of a transmission light transmitted through the wavelength stabilizing filter 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
