PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the impairment of the optical performance of a polygon scanner due to the scattering of leaked cutting oil by a centrifugal force which contaminates the mirror face of a polygon mirror and the inner face of a translucent window. SOLUTION: An annular projected part 26 is formed on the circumferential surface in the vicinity of the end part of a rotor 9 of a brushless motor 31, an annular polygon mirror 20 is fitted to the circumferential surface of the rotor 9 by abutting the mirror to the disk face of the projected part 26, a supporting member 21 provided with an annular part 27 which is fitted to the circumferential surface of the rotor 9 and a disk part 28 opposite to the end face of the rotor is formed, the supporting member 21 is fixed on the end part of the rotor 9 with a screw and the polygon mirror 20 is pinched and held in a gap between the supporting member 21 and the projected part 26, a through-hole extending to the front end part of a screw hole 29 is formed on one of the circumferential surface and inner peripheral surface of the rotor 9.
