PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning medium for a magnetic recorder which causes little head wear, has cleaning performance for eliminating stains by an appropriate cleaning force and recovering reproduction output, and does not cause corrosion of a magnetic head after cleaning. SOLUTION: In the cleaning medium for magnetic recorder, a lower layer coating layer including mainly non-magnetic inorganic power and a binder is provided on one surface on a support base, a cleaning layer including ferromagnetic powder and the binder is provided on the coating layer, and a back layer is provided on the other surface of the support base. The binder included in the coating layer and the cleaning layer does not include vinyl chloride based resin, but polyurethane resin obtained from a diol compound and a diisocyanate compound is used, and 50 to 250 projections of 10 to 30 nm perμm<SP>2</SP>are on the surface of the cleaning layer.
