PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for refining molten metal by which the problems that, in the conventional rotary molten metal refining device, the dangerousness that the device is broken and molten metal is scattered has been caused, and a long time has been taken in refining treatment because of the small amount of gas to be flowed out are solved, so that the breakage of the device and the scattering of molten metal are not caused at all, and further, the refining treatment time is made short. SOLUTION: In the refining method, gas is flowed out over a wide range near the bottom part of molten metal and is made into fine bubbles, and the whole of the molten metal is stirred with the fine bubbles, and further, the bubbles are reacted with nonmetallic inclusions or the same is floated up with the bubbles, so that the nonmetallic inclusions in the molten metal are removed. In the refining device, many pipes are radially mounted on the body, gas is flowed out from the tip of the pipe, and fine bubbles are dispersed into the molten metal over a wide range.
