PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hypoid gear type reduction gear which is always and easily capable of restraining play in axial direction of a hypoid gear which is attached to a hypoid gear mounting shaft and engages with a hypoid pinion. SOLUTION: The reduction gear is the hypoid gear type reduction gear 1 which is provided with the hypoid gear 15 engaging with the hypoid pinion 8 provided on a motor shaft (input shaft) 3, the hypoid gear mounting shaft 16 on which the hypoid gear 15 is attached and a gear box 11 including bearing housed portions 12a, 13a which house two ball bearings 17, 18, respectively, which rotatably support the hypoid gear mounting shaft 16. The gear box 11 is consisted of a gear case 12 and a lid member 13. The ball bearing 18 in side opposed to a gear cutting part of the hypoid gear 15 is housed to the bearing housed portion 13a of the lid member 13. A corrugated washer 33 is intersected between side face of the ball bearing 18 in side opposed to the gear cutting part of the hypoid gear 15 and bottom face of the bearing housed portion 13a.
