PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a steering supporting member capable of securing a vibration rigidity/strength of a steering required without reducing the strength of a reinforcement for reinforcing an instrument panel of a vehicle and a mother material for a supporting member or without increasing a mass not required. SOLUTION: There is provided a structure in which a supporting member 20 for use in supporting a steering column 31 is fixed to a reinforcement 10 for reinforcing an instrument panel of a vehicle. The supporting member 20 constitutes an opening 21 and this is fixed by press fitting the opening 21 to an outer circumferential surface of a large diameter hollow part 13 of the reinforcement 10. At this time, an inner circumferential diameter N21 of the opening 21 is set to be smaller than an outer circumferential diameter of the press fitting part at the large diameter hollow part 13 of the reinforcement 10.
