PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper pack vending machine and a cooling control method of a cooling unit which can reduce running costs and pulling-down time. SOLUTION: The paper pack vending machine 1 is equipped with the cooling unit 30 for cooling paper packaged commodities contained in a box of the machine by cold airflow, an air blowing switching guide means 34 having a function for switching to either of entire area blowing for circulating cold air sent out from the cooling unit 30 in the entire area of the box and zone cooling for circulating the cold air in a lower part area, a thermistor 36 for detecting the temperature in the box, and an air blowing switching controller 39 for controlling switching between the zone cooling and the entire area cooling by the air blowing switching guide means on the basis of the temperature detected by the thermistor 36.
