The invention relates to a stairs characterised in that the majority of non-used steps are superposed in such a way that the overall dimensions thereof are reducible, several steps being put at disposal of a user. When the steps are used they are arranged at a fixed clearance, and when they are not used, they slide horizontally from a pile situated in front of the user to a pile situated behind. After the use, the steps form the pile, while the steps to be used are expanded. Said mechanism makes it possible to overcome height differences quasi vertically for stair ascent or descent. Several embodiments are also disclosed. The advantage of similar construction lies in that the reduced overall dimensions, comfort of use and aesthetic aspect thereof. Said invention makes it possible to use the inventive stairs for many purposes: a liaison for superposed rooms and cat or escape ladders. |
