<p>A cigarette manufacturing method and machine (1), whereby a shredded tobacco stream (4) is fed along a channel (2) extending through at least one carding unit (49) and having at least one output portion (51) closed by a suction conveyor belt (7) and for feeding a mat of tobacco (6) onto the suction conveyor belt (7); and the shredded tobacco stream (4) is cleaned, upstream from the carding unit (49), to remove relatively heavy parts, such as lumps of tobacco and/or woody tobacco parts and/or any foreign bodies, from the shredded tobacco stream (4).</p> |
