<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the light of a partly bright portion from overlapping on a main subject and from producing an unsightly photograph even in the state that there is such a bright portion in the background of the subject by setting the suitable time for ending in spite of the condition that a strong waggle exceeding the capability limit of a vibration isolating device occurs in flash synchronization. <P>SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with a light emitting device for auxiliary light for photographing, a device for detecting an amount of shake and a shake compensation device for compensating the shake based on the shake signal of the device for detecting the amount of shake. In the camera, a certain relation is established between the longest shutter time at flash synchronization photographing when flash light is emitted in synchronization with a shutter and the longest shutter time at non-flash light emission when light emitting device for auxiliary light for photographing does not emit light, namely, the longest shutter time at the flash synchronization photographing is shorter than or equal to the longest shutter time at the non-flash light emission when carrying out flash photographing while driving the shake compensation device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
