METHOD FOR ASSIGNING PATH TO NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a path assignment method whereby an optimum combination between a transfer apparatus and a port flow can be obtained in the case of assigning a band of many more flows to a path.

SOLUTION: The path assignment method specifies the connection relation between ports of transfer apparatuses and paths and the assignment relation of flows to the paths so as to maximize the total sum of bands of all flows passing through all the paths while satisfying conditions that the total sum of bands of flows flowing from the transfer apparatus to paths connected to the output ports of the transfer apparatus via the output ports is not in excess of the capacity of the output ports, the total sum of the bands of the flows flowing from the paths connected to input ports to the transfer apparatus via the input ports of the transfer apparatus is not in excess of the capacity of the input ports, and the paths connect the output ports to the input paths whose capacity is equal to each other.
