PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backing fabric for artificial turf having a moderate flexibility, resistant to vertical splitting and having sufficient strength by using a reclaimed polyethylene terephthalate resin. SOLUTION: The backing fabric for artificial turf having excellent moldability and impact resistance and moderate flexibility, resistant to vertical splitting and exhibiting sufficient strength is produced by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a polyethylene terephthalate resin with 0.1-5 pts.wt. of an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride or further a specific amount of an inorganic filler.
