PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition excellent in curability and storage stability and used for a coating material, an adhesive, a casting material, and the like. SOLUTION: The curable composition is prepared by mixing a radical-polymerizable monomer mixture with a particulate cure catalyst composite prepared by the dry contact-friction mixing of a transition metal compound with a waxy organic substance, a polymerization inhibitor composite prepared by the dry contact-friction mixing of a polymerization inhibitor with the waxy organic substance, and a peroxide having a specified decomposability. During the storage of the composition, the polymerization inhibitor is slowly released, enhancing the stability of the composition; however, since the transition metal compound is rapidly released when the composition is thermally cured, the composition shows a good curability. In particular, when the radical-polymerizable monomer mixture mainly comprises a polyalkylene glycol and a radical-polymerizable monomer having a dicyclopentadienyl structure having a high oxygen curability and a low storage stability, the resultant curable composition shows excellent storage stability and good curability and easily gives a cured item excellent in softness and durability.
