摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound which is yielded from schwertmannite and has an excellent stability, a high ability of adsorbing arsenic and the like, and a high cleaning level. SOLUTION: The new compound whose compositional formula is denoted as Fe<SB>8</SB>O<SB>8</SB>(OH)<SB>8-2x</SB>((SO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>a</SB>, (HPO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>b</SB>)<SB>x</SB>(wherein, a+b=x; 1≤x≤1.75, 0<a≤1.658; and 0.092≤b≤x) is provided by adding schwertmannite whose compositional formula is denoted as Fe<SB>8</SB>O<SB>8</SB>(OH)<SB>8-2x</SB>(SO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>x</SB>(wherein, 1≤x≤1.75) to a phosphoric acid solution of pH 2-9. The new compound is stabilized by the adsorption of phosphoric acid to the schwertmannite, and particularly firmly stabilized at 0<a≤1.253 and 0.497≤b≤x. The new compound with high stability can hold a high ability of adsorbing arsenic and the like and a high cleaning level for a specified term or semipermanently and can adsorb arsenic and the like in polluted water or a polluted soil.
