<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cytokine production promoter which is a new prevention/treatment means for tumors or various infection diseases and has high safety as well as less side effects. <P>SOLUTION: This cytokine production promoter contains 9-cis,11-trans conjugated linoleic acid as an effective ingredient. In this case, cytokine is preferably one, or two or more selected from the group consisting of interleukins, interferons and tumor necrosis factors. Further, 9-cis,11-trans conjugated linoleic acid has a pharmacologically acceptable configuration such as a fatty acid, fatty acid ester, a metal salt, or the like, or the configuration of a mixture thereof.
