<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor capable of reducing load on an external driving source by controlling a driving torque. <P>SOLUTION: The variable displacement compressor changes delivery capacity by controlling difference between a crank chamber pressure and an intake chamber pressure with a pressure control valve. The pressure control valve comprises a passage chamber constituting part of an air supply passage, a valve seat for partitioning the passage chamber to a crank chamber side region and a delivery chamber side region and having a valve hole communicating the both, and a valve element that contacts with or separates from the valve seat to open or close a ventilation passage. The valve element is arranged in the crank chamber side region, and the crank chamber pressure follows the delivery chamber pressure. A Pc pressure sensing part is provided, and is arranged so as to operate to suppress fluctnation of the crank chamber pressure.
