<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive word clock generator which operates at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The word clock generator is provided with a means for generating a serial clock signal coincident with a bit rate of a serial digital signal (the number of bits in one word is "N"), for dividing the frequency of the serial clock signal by N, for generating a first word clock signal coincident with a word rate, for delaying the phase of the first word clock signal by (N-1) times by every cycle of the serial clock signal, for generating a group of N multi-phase word clock signals, for converting the serial digital signal into a parallel signal based on the serial clock signal, for judging whether or not a prescribed timing reference bit string exists in the parallel signal, for detecting the phase information of the timing reference bit string, for selecting a word clock signal having a phase coincident with the phase information among the group of multi-phase word clock signals and for outputting it to the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
