PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means easily synchronizable even for great leaking from own polarization to dissimilar polarization or vice versus. SOLUTION: When own polarization and dissimilar polarization are asynchronous, a cross polarization interference compensator circuit (XPIC circuit) 27 is set to a first intermittent reset state. When own polarization in this state changes to a synchronous state, the circuit 27 is set to a reset state. When own polarization in the reset state changes again to the asynchronous state, the circuit 27 is set to a second intermittent reset state. When own polarization in the second intermittent reset state changes to the synchronous state, the circuit 27 is set to an auto state for a specified time after a change time. When the dissimilar polarization changes to the synchronous state within a specified time, the XPIC circuit 27 holds the auto state. If the dissimilar polarization does not change to the synchronous state within the specified time, the circuit 27 is switched again to the reset state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
