PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which quickly switches over a color photographing and a black-and-white photographing with high precision. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises an IR cut filter 2 for removing IR components from the incident light, a dummy glass 3 allowing the incident light to pass through, and a microcomputer 11 which calculates the sunrise and sunset times, based on the date information acquired by a date information acquirer and inserts the IR cut filter 2 or the dummy glass 3 in a light path, when the present time shown by the time information acquired by a time information acquirer is between the calculated sunrise time and the sunset time or not therebetween, respectively.
