PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disk from being scratched at occurrence of impact and to make a read error hardly occur. SOLUTION: This device has a first chassis member 2, a second chassis member 3 placed on this first chassis member 2, and an optical pickup 4 movably attached to this second chassis member 3. A skew adjustment mechanism 1 adjusting deviation of an optical axis for an optical disk is provided with disk receiving parts 26, 27 positioned at a side always more closely to the optical disk than the tip of the optical pickup so as to follow approaching operation and separating operation of the tip of the optical pickup to/from the surface of the optical disk by skew adjustment of the optical pickup 4.
