PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper pack vending machine and a cooling control method of a cooling unit which can improve the energy saving efficiency and can reduce the power consumption by optimally controlling the temperature distribution in an upper area and a lower area of a box of the machine. SOLUTION: In an upper part of the box, a first thermistor 36 is provided which detects upper area temperature. In a lower part of the box, a second thermistor 37 is provided which detects lower area temperature. An air blowing switching controller 39 is provided which controls the operation of an air blowing switching guide means 42. The operation control of the air blowing switching guide means 42 is performed by the air blowing switching controller 39 on the basis of the temperature detected by the first thermistor 36, and the ON/OFF control of cold airflow is performed by the cooling unit 30 based on the temperature detected by the second thermistor 37.
