PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an elevator independent steel tower capable of obtaining a column by connecting column members having the same cross section with satisfactory construction property. SOLUTION: The column 3 of the elevator independent steel tower 1 is formed by connecting a plurality of column members 4 having the same cross section and being a hollow column member. Inner side join plates 5 are arranged over and along inner faces of upper and lower column members 4a, 4b to be connected. Outer side join plates 6 are arranged over and along outer faces of the upper and lower column members 4a, 4b to interpose the column member 4 between the inner side join plates 5. A through-hole 8 passing through a nut 7 provided on the inner side join plate 5 and the inside and outside of the column member 4 is communicated with a through-hole 9 passing through the inside and outside of the outer side join plate 6. Bolts 10 inserted into the through-holes 9 and the through-hole 8 are tightened to the nuts 7 to nip, hold, and fix the upper and lower column members 4a, 4b by the inner side join plates 5 and the outer side join plates 6. Guide parts 11 inclined inward at an upper parts and guiding the upper side column member 4a onto the lower side column member 4b are provided at an upper ends of the inner side join plates 5.
