PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head having a structure capable of efficiently setting the arrangement relation between ink chambers and nozzles. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording apparatus has the pressure chambers communicating with nozzles for discharging ink droplets, the common ink chamber connected to flow channels for supplying ink to the pressure chambers provided to vibration plates for sealing one surface of the pressure chambers and piezoelectric elements for displacing the vibration plates. The pressure chambers are arranged so as to be opposed to a position where almost 1/2 of the adjacent nozzles is set as the center line with respect to a direction along which a large number of the nozzles are arranged in a row.
