An electron-emitting source easily so fabricated to have a large area, having an electron emission efficiency equivalent to those of Spindt electron sources and electron emission characteristics (the pressure dependence is low, the angel of emission of electrons is small, the current of emitted electrons is stable, the noise is little, and the applied voltage for electron emission is low) as excellent as those of stacked electron sources such as MIMs and BSDs.
