PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently lock functions in a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: In the case of detecting the opening / closing of a foldable portable telephone by an opening / closing detector 36, a dial lock control part 34 starts counting by a timer 38. Then, it is detected that the prescribed duration of a non-operation time elapses by resetting the timer 38 in the case that some operation is performed and a lock flag is set at the time. A dial lock is set when the portable telephone set is opened / closed further in a state that the lock flag is set. When just the lock flag is set, a use can be continued.
