PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a recording mark magnetically to a reproducing layer from each recording layer without reducing reading spatial resolution in an optical recording medium consisting of two magnetic recording layers including a magnetic recording layer exchangingly coupled to an auxiliary magnetic layer and one reproducing layer. SOLUTION: A first magnetic recording layer 12 having first compensation temperature, an auxiliary magnetic layer 11 controlling a magnetization state of a record mark formed in the first magnetic layer 12 by exchange-coupling, a second magnetic recording layer 13 having second compensation temperature being different from the first compensation temperature, and a reproducing layer 14 on which record marks formed in the first magnetic recording layer 12 and the second magnetic recording layer 13 are formed by magnetic transfer, are layered on a substrate, and the direction of magnetic polarization of the auxiliary magnetic layer 11 is inverse to the direction of magnetic polarization of the first magnetic recording layer 12.
