PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner surely sucking dust located near a wall. SOLUTION: A front side opening 41 is provided in the front side of a case body communicating with a suction port 25. A bumper 24 is provided in the upper part of the front side opening 41 of the case body. A projection part 61 closing a part of the front side opening 41 is provided in the bumper 24 projecting downward. A distance between the bumper 24 and a floor surface F and the opening area of the front side opening 41 are reduced to improve the velocity of the suction air in the front side of the case body. When the front side of the case body is made to approach to the vicinity of the wall, this cleaner can surely suck the dust located near the wall from the front side opening 41.
