<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm device for a vehicle enabling a driver to sensuously discriminate a direction where an obstacle is positioned. <P>SOLUTION: When an obstacle detection device detects the obstacle against the vehicle, a direction specifying device specifies one of a plurality of obstacle directions determined on a periphery of the vehicle viewed from the driver as the direction of the detected obstacle. Of a plurality of informing devices mounted to the vehicle each corresponding to each direction of the obstacle viewed from the driver, the informing device corresponding to the direction of the obstacle specified by the direction specifying means viewed from the driver is operated to output the alarm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
