PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional printing system wherein a printing preparation operation which is carried out in a printer after outputting printing actual data generally requires a time of several seconds, and a user thus must stand by until the completion of the printing preparation operation after outputting the printing actual data.

SOLUTION: When starting of a printer driver 21c is detected prior to generation and output of printing actual data in the color printer 40, a starting command is outputted to the color printer 40 to make the color printer 40 execute the printing preparation operation, whereby the printing preparation operation on the color printer 40 side and a processing necessary for generating the printing actual data on the printer driver 21c side are executed in parallel. According to this, the through-put of the whole printing processing is improved.
