<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a human type single-stranded antibody in which variation by gene manipulation and fusion with another protein are readily carried out and which has high affinity for an antigen, antigenic specificity, stability and applicability and is specifically reacted with variant E-cadherin and a polynucleotide encoding the human type single-stranded antibody and to provide a method for detecting a tumor cell and a kit for detecting a tumor cell using the polynucleotide. <P>SOLUTION: The human type single-stranded antibody is obtained by constructing a vector expressing a single-stranded antibody having a VH domain and a VL domain of immunoglobulin cDNA, culturing a second host having the vector to give a single-stranded antibody in the host and recovering a host to give a single-stranded antibody to be reacted with a peptide composed of a part of variant E-cadherin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
