<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dummy cap which dispenses with repetition of treating excess length of the user side optical fiber for extension when an optical module is installed for extension and which surely fixes the optical connector disposed at the top end of the user side optical fiber for extension. <P>SOLUTION: The front face of the dummy cap 18 is provided with optical connectors 19a, 19b to connect the optical connectors disposed at the top ends of user side optical fibers for extension. The two optical connectors 19a, 19b fix the optical connectors for transmitting and receiving optical signals, respectively. A projection formed in the upper part of the dummy cap 18 in the figure is a grip 20 to be used when the dummy cap 18 is inserted into or pulled from a housing box. Guides 21, 22 formed on the side faces of the dummy cap 18 adjust dimensions when the dummy cap 18 is inserted into the housing box and enables the cap 18 to be smoothly housed in the housing box with little frictional resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
