PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter enabling washing and regeneration using nonwoven fabric made of a hydrophilic ultra fine microfiber, which can be repeatedly washed and used without necessitating treatment with a surface active agent at every washing. SOLUTION: This air filter enabling washing/regeneration is produced or is subjected to hydrophilic treatment by kneading the surface active agent, therefore, can be excellently regenerated even when being washed repeatedly and unnecessitates the treatment by means of the surface active agent at every washing. Further, even when being used near the sea side, it does not occur that salts such as sea-salt particles deliquesce and a water film is formed on the surface of the filter, so that an increase in pressure loss is not caused.
