<p>This invention relates to a security system. The security system of the invention includes trigger event sensors, including a motion sensor and a smoke sensor, a surveillance camera, a surveillance microphone, and an electronic control circuit, including a transmitter compatible with a cellular communications network. In use of the system, it is connected in communication with such a network. In response to receiving an input indicative of a trigger event, the control system transmits, via the network, an output signal indicative of the trigger event to a remote telecommunications device of which the contact number is stored in a memory of the control circuit. The control circuit can transmit images and sounds captured by the camera and microphone to the remote device. The system can receive instructions from a remote communications device, via the network, for controlling a local external device, e.g. a light.</p> |
